Health Guarantee
Family K-9’s Veterinary Care & Health Guarantee
1. Required Veterinary Examination
The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within four (4) calendar days of taking ownership. At this visit, the Buyer shall establish a vaccination schedule and begin heartworm and flea/tick prevention as recommended by the veterinarian.
Failure to complete this examination within the required timeframe may void portions of this guarantee.
2. Parasites
Parasites are not covered, as they may be contracted from a variety of environments. Buyers are encouraged to avoid taking their puppy to public areas where parasites can easily spread.
3. Contagious Disease Guarantee
The Breeder guarantees the puppy for two (2) days from possession against the following contagious diseases:
• Parvovirus
• Distemper
• Kennel Cough
If the puppy becomes ill within this period, written documentation from a licensed veterinarian must be provided for the guarantee to apply.
4. Hernias
Umbilical hernias (“outie belly buttons”) are not covered, as they are considered cosmetic and not life-threatening. Such hernias may shrink or resolve as the puppy matures, or they may be corrected at the time of spay or neuter at the Buyer’s discretion and expense.
5. Spay/Neuter Responsibility
The Breeder does not cover the cost of spaying or neutering for any reason. This responsibility lies solely with the Buyer.
Suggested ages:
• Small breeds: 6–12months
• Large breeds: 10–18 months
Buyers are encouraged to contact local veterinary clinics for pricing.
6. Complimentary Pet Insurance
The Breeder provides thirty (30) days of complimentary pet insurance through Trupanion.
Activation Code: BR1MF31220
Coverage includes accidents, illness, congenital, and hereditary conditions. The Buyer must activate the policy within twenty-four (24) hours of receiving the puppy to qualify. The Breeder strongly recommends maintaining coverage until the puppy reaches at least one year of age.
One-Year Congenital Health Guarantee
7. Requirement for Coverage
To activate this guarantee, the Buyer must place the puppy on NuVet Plus for a full twelve (12) months. This once-daily supplement supports immune health, bone development, and coat quality. NuVet is manufactured in the USA and shipped directly to the Buyer’s home. It is veterinarian- and breeder-recommended.

8. Covered Conditions
This guarantee applies only to life-threatening genetic or congenital defects, including but not limited to:
• Liver shunt
• Grade 3–6 heart murmur
• Juvenile Diabetes
Veterinary documentation confirming the congenital or genetic nature of the condition is required.
9. Buyer Remedies
If a covered condition is suspected or confirmed, the Buyer must notify the Breeder as soon as reasonably possible after diagnosis. A second written opinion from a different licensed veterinary clinic confirming the genetic or congenital nature of the condition is required before any remedy is offered.
If confirmed, the Buyer may then choose one of the following options:
• Exchange the puppy for another puppy offered by the Breeder, or
• Receive one-half (½) of the original purchase price should the Buyer elect to retain the puppy.
Any partial refund provided under this section is intended to be applied toward the Buyer’s Trupanion pet insurance deductible. The Buyer acknowledges that Trupanion deductibles are assessed per covered condition and apply for the lifetime of the pet. The Breeder makes no guarantees regarding insurance coverage, eligibility, or claim approval.
The Breeder does not cover or reimburse veterinary bills, diagnostic testing, follow-up examinations, treatments, or medications. Transportation costs are also not covered or reimbursed under this guarantee.
Pet Insurance Recommendation
The Breeder strongly recommends that the Buyer maintain pet insurance for the puppy for a minimum of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Pet insurance typically provides broader and more comprehensive coverage than this congenital health guarantee, including coverage for conditions, treatments, and expenses not covered under this agreement.
10. Euthanasia Clause
If the puppy is euthanized without the Breeder’s prior written consent, this guarantee shall be considered null and void.
